Booga Bag

I bought some fishermans wools at A.C.Moore and kool-aid packets at Walbaums to dye this bag. This bag was knitted up so fast and easy, I’m dyeing and knitting up another one for my mom. So the whole process begins with unwinding the skin into a hank, i used the leg of the dining table and the coffee table. I then put the hank into the pot with water. Since kool-aid is very acidic, I didn’t have to add any vinegar to it. I divided the yarn into 4 equal slices of pie and added the dye to the yarn. After all the dye is absorbed, the water should be clear, I rinsed it in water and let it hang to dry. After drying, I had to wind it into a ball. After that its ready to be knit! After knitting I felted it in the washing machine which took several washes to get the desired level of felting. I added a matching inner lining to the bag.

Here Baby is modeling the bag for me.
