Knitpicks Harmony needles (and magic loop) for bringing sock knitting back into my life. Without you two I would have given up on socks because it was too tedious to use double points and I was afraid that I would poke myself or someone else with the pointy needles. And now that I can knit two socks at once, I won’t have the issue of second sock syndrome. But sometimes I will be knitting a new pattern with a new yarn so I don’t know how they will turn out so I won’t always be knitting two socks at once. That is okay with me since I am turning out socks lightning fast and faster than I can turn out sweaters (ahem my 5 day hourglass sweater also knit on Harmonies.)
To satiate my lightnighing fast sock knitting, I bought 3 skeins of Smooshy from Sonny and Shear.

If I’ve done my math right, thats about 4lbs of wool lace weight yarn. I told my mom who went back to China to buy me a few skeins of laceweight yarn. A few skeins turned into 4 lbs! I will never ever need to buy lace yarn again. My aunt is in China too, I think I might have given my mom directions to tell my aunt to buy me more yarn. I hope its not all in laceweight
Anyone wanna trade yarn?
The top larger skeins are 125g each. The bottom smaller balls are 75g each.
Baby has discovered that my bed is very comfy (took her long enough!) Shes not actually allowed on the bed but for ever since I got her, she never had an interest in getting on the bed until recently. One morning I woke to find her sleeping next to my feet. A few days later while I was sleeping she sneaked onto the bed again but then I made a sudden movement and scared her out so badly that she made a ruckus and leaped from the bed. I actually didn’t realized what the noise was until later when I had actually woken up! Low and behold yesterday I caught her napping on my bed. When I discovered her she was fully asleep with her eyes shut. I went to grab my camera, but by then she woke up realized I was snapping photos of her. I didn’t punish her though if I did I don’t think I’ll have issues with her jumping on the bed. She is getting her way….

I left Brooklyn with Baby around 8am to pick up my friend Tran and her dog Hans to go up to Rhinebeck. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful drive filled with getting lost but not actually lost and coming back to NYC with the worst possible traffic ever (nearly 2 hours to get from the Bronx to Chelsea).

So on to the festival! We were both starving so the first thing we did was get something to eat before the lunch lines get crazy. We both got chicken pot pies that was not worth the $6 we paid. It was dry and the crust was burnt.
We didn’t have a map of the festival so we decided to tackle building by building. The first building we went into had Socks that Rock! It was on my list of things to see and possibly buy since I haven’t seen this sock yarn in NYC. I bought 2, enough for a chevron scarf, if the colors don’t turn out so well, they will be turned into socks. I waited in a huge line to pay for it. When i came back to the same building later in the afternoon, there was no line and there were still some skeins of Socks that rock left albeit not in the more interesting colors.
