This is the spun up yarn I wrote about in the last post. I spun it up last week. I really like the colorway; like the colors of a flower garden. I didn’t read about having 50% of the twist lost in plying until a few days ago so each ply is undertwisted as a result.

I dyed up another 2 ounces of roving last weekend to practice my spinning. This time I wanted a thinner yarn, it came out a little thinner than the last one but still i think it was worsted to bulky weight and still undertwisted in some parts. I got to learn to get the twists to be more even, more practice and more roving! The thickness didn’t vary as much as the my first try.

The final product is only 70g so I can only make a hat or something small with it. Its a good thing since it means that I can crank through the project in a day or so. And I did just that yesterday. Here it is
Calorimetry from Knitty.com made with my own handspun superwash merino wool.

I love handspun wool!

I love this hat. The pattern can be found here. I wore it almost the entire day (indoors) after I completed it. The only draw back to it is that its not as “slouchy” as I would have liked it. The giant pom pom was my addition to the slouch. Baby was sorta patient enough to be my model again.
